DIY: Halloween Centerpiece

Hello everyone! I hope you’re enjoying your FALL season and all the wonderful things that comes with it! 🍁🍂🍁

Today I’m going to be making a variation of a fall centerpiece, which is a video I did a little while ago…but I’ll be adding a super fun twist. I’m going to “Halloweenify” it.

Let's get started!

Click the box below to view the VIDEO!

INSTRUCTIONS:

You are going to need:

-An 8-inch clay pot

-3 plastic pumpkins (one small, medium and large)

-Black spray paint (glossy)

-Orange matte paint

-Orange glittery paint

-A paintbrush

-Copper and black glitter tape

-Hole puncher

-3ft feather boa

-Orange battery operated mini lights (purchased on Amazon)

-2 AA batteries (to power the lights)

-Black thread

-Wire cutters

-Scissors

These items can be found at your local craft store!

  1. Take your clay pot and coat it with black spray paint (NOTE: be sure to do this in a ventilated area or outside and wear gloves!)

  2. Coat your medium sized pumpkin with black spray paint. (Wait several hours for both to dry!)

  3. Paint your largest pumpkin with orange matte paint. (This makes it a nice uniform orange color.)

  4. Do the same to your smallest pumpkin.

  5. Wait ½ hr. for both pumpkins to dry.

  6. Paint your largest and smallest pumpkin with orange glittery paint. (1-2 coats works best!)

  7. With your hole puncher and black glitter tape, punch out little polka dots to arrange on your smallest pumpkin.

  8. Do the same to your largest pumpkin! I’ve arranged my polka dots in lines. Make an original design!

  9. Punch out copper sparkle polka dots for your medium sized black pumpkin.

  10. Cut long copper stripes to stick on the clay pot. (For spacing, eyeball it!)

  11. Grab your black boa and wrap it around itself multiple times. (This is similar to braiding.)

  12. Cut some black thread and tie each end of the boa to secure it.

  13. With excess thread tie both ends of the boa together. Now you’ve got a feather ring!

  14. Bring your mini orange lights up through the center of the ring.

  15. Wrap them around the boa.

  16. If your pumpkins have wires-with wire cutters cut the majority of the wire off. (Leave some wire left over so you can comfortably stack the pumpkins.)

  17. Remove the medium and large pumpkin’s stems.

  18. Stack the pumpkins on top of each other.

  19. Place the feathery boa on top of the pot.

  20. Place the pumpkins on top.

  21. Turn on the mini orange lights!

If you’re in the process of decorating for Halloween, this is really inexpensive and unique. You can really focus on making it your own with your paint choices and pumpkin designs. There’s really no right or wrong and it’s super fun to do!

Happy (almost) HALLOWEEN! 👻

Until next time loves! XO!
